As a mother, I love being able to get in touch with my kids in an emergency and know if they've gone astray where they should be. So it's quite understandable why parents are starting to buy smartwatches for their kids, especially those who are too young to use a phone. But with the market flooded with at least 8,000 different types of watches (not a real statistic), it can be difficult to decide which smartwatch is best for your child. In order not to get overwhelmed by your choice of gadgets, here are some thoughts.

Many smartwatches for kids offer similar functions, such as texting, calling, GPS functions, but there are big differences between watches according to different needs. Do you want to fully manage the use of your child's watch? Do you need an automatic answer so you can get in touch with your child even if they won't answer? Do you need to be notified when your child leaves an area? Or do you want them to be able to make calls and dictate texts as they would on the phone?

It all depends on what works best for your family and your specific situation. Of course, your budget. Some watches are quite expensive, while others are quite affordable. Finding the best combination of features and cost means you'll be in top shape and get what you need at a price you can afford. Also, many smartwatches need to be added to your existing cellular plan, so don't forget the cost of adding an extra line.
